My brain has a habit of asking questions.
The kind of questions that turn into research papers.

So let’s start there.

Not a Collaborator or a Supervisor, but an Assistant: Striking the Balance Between Efficiency and Ownership in AI-incorporated Qualitative Data

Puranik, A., Chen, E., Peiris, R. L., & Kong, H.-K. (2025)

I co-authored the paper, where we examine how AI can speed up qualitative data analysis, without replacing human insight. In our interviews with 16 qualitative researchers, we found most are open to AI helping with labor-intensive tasks like coding, as long as humans remain in control of interpretation and meaning. Our findings highlight three key concerns - efficiency, ownership, and trust - that shape how people want to delegate tasks to AI. We propose design guidelines for QDA tools that keep AI as a helpful assistant.

Every project I’ve done left me a little smarter and a little more chaotic.
I’ve interviewed people, built flows, conducted tests and worked closely with devs to make sure the final product still looks like the thing I proudly showed in the meetings.

Of course, skills and tools matter… but what really matters is how people feel working with me.

Recommendations

"I had the pleasure of working alongside Anoushka at Rochester Regional Health on the same product team, and I can confidently say she is one of the most thoughtful and driven UX designers I’ve collaborated with. From the very beginning of our project, Anoushka was deeply involved in gathering client needs and translating those into intuitive, user-centric designs. She maintained constant communication with both stakeholders and developers (like me), ensuring that the client’s vision was not only understood but brought to life seamlessly. Anoushka is an exceptional team player who consistently steps up beyond her defined role. Whether it’s taking on new responsibilities, troubleshooting blockers, or helping guide the team through design decisions, she approaches every task with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset. She brings not only skill and creativity but also reliability and leadership to every project she touches. Any team would be lucky to have her."
