A leading healthcare services company in India wanted to re-design the UI of their mobile app. They provide services like booking doctor's appointments, storing medical documents and bills, among others.

Step 1 - Conducted several meetings with the stakeholders to understand their requirements.

 
This discussion happened over several zoom calls and after understanding their needs and requirements, we planned out the timeline for this project. Additionally, the competitive analysis helped me understand the existing apps in this industry and their strengths and weaknesses.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

- Little info spread across many pages
- Technicians did not reach home on scheduled time
- Status of the test report needs to be shown

Healthians

- Time slots shown on the app do not provide status if the time slot is available- Cannot add medical history of family members

- Not easy to navigate
- Cannot add multiple address for deliveries and booking tests

GOALS

To create profiles for all family members

To order health check-up packages at home

To book doctor's appointments at the nearest location

To upload / scan medical bills for family members

Step 2 - Carried out user interviews and created user personas  

The user interviews helped me understand the needs of the target audience. Some of the participants answered the questions over zoom call while some answered through Google Forms. Furthermore, I created user personas to help with design decisions by narrowing down all the data collected from user interviews.

Sunita Kulkarni
Age - 40 years
Location -Aurangabad, India

Story
Sunita is a mother of 2 kids. Her eldest daughter is 10 years old, suffering from down syndrome. She has to take care of the kids by herself as her husband goes outdoors for work. She is stressed about her kid’s medications and treatments. She has to do health check ups and tests of her kid every 3 months. She and her husband have to manage the medical expenses accordingly. Her days are hectic, sometimes forgetting to give her kid her medicines on time.

Motivations
To have all medical related information and records in one place
To save time in keeping track of schedules

Needs
Simple app to keep a tab on her kid’s health schedule
Easy access to different health check ups and tests
Should have the history of previous purchases for re-ordering
Can keep a tab of all the health reports and send it to doctor from the app itself

Goals
To provide the best healthcare and treatment to her daughter
To be able to take care of her family and herself

Anish Sharma
Age - 29 years
Location - Mumbai, India

Story
Anish is a 29 year old data scientist, working in a multi-national company. He lives with his wife in Mumbai and travels to work everyday for total 2 hours. In the last 6 months, he has been feeling weak physically and mentally stressed. He has been advised by doctors to start meditating and to take some additional vitamin supplements. He has been going to doctors for hypertension treatment. He has to visit the doctor once in 2 months at least to get himself checked and keep a track on his progress.

Motivations
- To make the right medical decisions with the help of right doctors
- To get some benefits like discounts, offers, etc on health packages and tests for him and his wife

Needs
To be able to schedule doctor’s appointments time to time
To keep a tab on the medicines he has been taking
Should have the history of previous purchases
Wants an app that will help him order health packages and tests at home for him and his wife

Goals
To get all medical services on one app only
To be able to documents all medical related activities for himself and his family
